Reaching Rio

Reaching Rio is a workplace physical activity challenge that uses Gamification to encourage employees to be more physically active. The Public Health Team in West Sussex commissioned the online physical activity challenge as part of the London 2012 Olympic legacy and to promote physical activity in the lead up to Rio 2016. Sussex based businesses are encouraged to join as a team, get active, log activity and make their way to Rio!. Every physical activity undertaken by the team is logged, with teams progress on the route displayed on an interactive map and leader boards.

Logo & Branding

We created a vibrant map, logo and brand to create an identity for the challenge

Bespoke Design

We listened to the idea our client had in her head and brought it to life. We design a striking website, interactive map, email marketing campaign as well as flyers and posters.

Fully Responsive Website

A fully responsive, interactive and engaging website, that adapts to the screen size that the sites is being viewed on.

Mobile Web App

To make it easier for people to log activity in the challenge we created a bespoke mobile web app to support and complement the main desktop site.

Membership System

The membership system allows people to register and create a profile. This lets them enter information, in this case their activity log, providing an engaging and interactive experience.

Gamification

The challenge drew on gamification theory and included elements such as team competition, leaderboards, badges, quizzes and an interactive map. All designed to encourage sustained engagement with the challenge.

Social Media

Twitter & Facebook accounts were created and integrated with the site. Our team also manage the social media campaign.

Analytics & SEO

Google Analytics is set up as standard on all our sites. We ensure our websites are search engine optimised.
